New stretch target
It will allow us to complete the project with tree planting, hedges and a wild life area.
We've raised money and buy the field next to the Memorial Hall. Now we need to make a part of it an area to plant trees and park cars.

The Memorial Hall is the heart of five local villages and hamlets, but at the moment we have no parking area, and we have to park cars on the one and only road that goes through the village of Asthall Leigh.
On busy days at the Hall, the farmer can't get his tractor through without going up on the verge which of course damages the grass and flowers. We now have a chance to get the cars safely off the road.
Last year we raised £160,000 with donations from the local community to buy the land adjacent to the Memorial Hall. We intend to plant some trees and hedges, make a wild life area plus the small area to park some cars. Everyone is in favour, but sadly the money has run out before we could complete the project.
Everyone will benefit from the trees and parking area.
The Memorial Hall was built for five local villages and hamlets, Asthall, Fordwells, Field Assarts, Worsham and Asthall Leigh, so people young and old come to use it from the surrounding area. It is the heart of our community, but there is no bus service and so people who are not able to walk or cycle, have to use their car.
The Memorial Hall is used several times a month (and every month of the year). We have regular, Film Nights, Villagers Lunches, Pub Nights, 'Talks', Trustees Meetings, Parish Council Meetings and Church Prayer Group Meetings. We also show major sporting events 'Live' on the big projector screen and from time to time have 'Arts & Craft' Sales and keep fit classes.
People from all the local villages and hamlets come to meet and use the Hall. It's a tribute of its success that it's used so much, but when cars park all up the road, it's difficult to get past with wide vehicles. We need to get them off the road and onto a safe and secure parking area. We do not want to tarmac it, but use the hard standing mesh that you can still grow grass through so the area will still look like a field.
