Bishopstone Village Hall is used by all the local groups, clubs and societies for regular meetings and activities, children's parties, the village school and other ad-hoc events.

It is not very comfortable in the winter when the outside temperature drops below about 5 degrees C. (Particularly if there's one of those biting North Easterlies; seems to get into the very fabric of the Hall)..
Bishopstone Village Hall is a registered charity. A community resource administered by the trustees and a committee of management for the whole community. Population 693 (2011).

The committee consists of three Elected Members and up to Nine Representative Members from local clubs etc.

e.g  BADS (Bishopstone Amateur Dramatic Society)

In addition to the 'provision and maintenance' regular social events are run by the committee to raise funds over and above the letting fees. e.g. A monthly Film Night (bring a cushion and a blanket).*

This objective of this project is to increase the level of insulation in the roof / ceiling to modern standards. It will benefit the community by:
1. Improving comfort levels in the winter.
2. Reducing energy use (running) costs.
3. Maintain the structural integrity of the roof.

Project Budget Estimate.
To improve the insulation levels to current standards we also have to ventilate the roof space to prevent condensation which also gives us the opportunity to carry out remedial work to the eaves roof felt, replace guttering and clad facias.

Main elements:
Insulation (additional 200mm) - main hall + Service area approx. 200m2
Eaves ventilated felt support repair trays. Replace facias and guttering.
Scaffolding.

Total £8400
