We are the Rural Northants First Responders. We are volunteers trained by the East Midlands Ambulance Service and respond to 999 emergency calls on their behalf.
This reduces the time taken in such a rural location to get, life saving treatment to a patient.
As Responders we are not funded in anyway by the ambulance service and it is with, grants and donations that we are able to help the community when they are most in need. To assist us with this we have leased a vehicle from East Midlands Ambulance Service, this enable us to carry all the equipment that we need to save a persons life when called upon.
As well as funding the car we have to supply our own uniforms and equipment for our existing and new responders. With single biggest expense being the Defibrillator with the reset of the equipment for a new responder totaling around £2,000.
We also deliver free CPR/Defib Training in the local villages and surrounding areas.
What we would like to with funds raised from this opportunity is cover the cost of the car lease for the next 12 months, as it would mean any other fund raising can go towards getting new responders on the road and supply existing responders with new equipment.
