Rural Hero of the Year

New for 2021!

Nominations have now closed

We have been on the lookout for the UK’s Rural Hero of the Year for 2020. That special person who always went the extra mile to help their community, whether it was shopping for the elderly or simply being there to lend a hand whenever it was needed. We wanted to hear all about them.

We’ve received lots of nominations for community members who dedicated themselves to supporting those in need and we’ll be announcing the winner of the Rural Hero of the Year award on 11th August. So stay tuned on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages to find out who it is!

This Rural Hero of the Year award is for an individual. That individual must be based in a rural, off-grid location. If the individual is part of a group/organisation’s Rural Community Fund grant application, this award will be treated as completely separate. Should their group/organisation become a winner of a grant of funds under the Community Fund, the grant money will be spent on the project outlined in their application and they, as an individual, will win a separate individual prize associated with the Rural Hero of the Year award. Any Rural Community Fund grant bid is entirely independent of any individual award.
